At Pearson Auto Body, we are committed to doing whatever we can do to preserve the environment. It is our responsibility. This includes recycling of cardboard, tires, sheet metal, aluminum, as well as the reconditioning of useable bumper covers. In another area of environmental compliance we use reconditioned used parts on older vehicles, where used parts are appropriate. These parts have an intended lifecycle and we believe in doing our part to achieve it. It’s a lot better for all of us to use these parts in collision repair than sending them prematurely to a smelting plant. We also recycle waste solvents in house for re-use, and all excess paint residue and filter media are disposed by a registered recycler.
By using Dupont’s Waterborne Paints, we reduce our carbon footprint on the environment even more, by decreasing the harmful VOC’S that are released into the air with shorter spray times and shorter bake times We mix our colors with a computerized process that mixes by the ounce, significantly minimizing expense and waste. Our HLVP spray guns provide the maximum transfer of spray material to the vehicle, which also minimizes the VOC’S into the atmosphere. By doing all of these things responsibly, we’ve just passed an OSHA compliance audit with complete satisfaction from the regulators. At Pearson Auto Body, we do everything possible with scientific advances to be the shop that is proactive in meeting these environmental challenges, and we do it before we’re told to.
